Stockholm Strauss Orchestra
As tradition requires, the Stockholm Strauss Orchestra once again will perform the New Year’s concert at Berwaldhallen. Sweden’s most festive orchestra is conducted by Mika Eichenholz, who effortlessly swings the baton in familiar works by Johann and Eduard Strauss. Some new pieces are also promised in the repertoire. This year’s soloist is soprano Lydia Kjellberg, who will perform operetta songs with a warm and beautiful timbre. In stunning choreographies by Judith Simon, created especially for this year’s New Year’s concert, the dancers seem to defy gravity. The concert, perfect for the curious as well as those who wish to hear the well-known waltzes and polkas from the New Year’s concert in Vienna, will be presented by Marianne Eklöf, opera singer.
The Stockholm Strauss Orchestra invites you to join them for a sparkling musical experience.
Could there be a more festive way to ring in the New Year than with music by the Strauss family? With everyone in high spirits and perhaps a glass of sparkling wine during intermission? Let yourself be seduced by sweeping waltzes and energetic polkas. Humming along to these beautiful melodies, you’ll continue dancing into the starry New Year’s night and the glittering snow. Towards the New Year’s bells and the new year, towards new adventures and new hopes.
A concert for everyone! The whole family, young and old alike.
Welcome to celebrate the New Year with the Stockholm Strauss Orchestra at Berwaldhallen.
Happy New Year!

The orchestra is modelled after – and has the same instrumental setup as – the Capelle Strauss orchestra, which performed under the leadership of members of the Strauss family between 1827 and 1901.
