The jubilee concert sums up 20 years of Baltic Sea Festivals and everything they have meant to the region. Co-founder and conductor laureate of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Esa-Pekka Salonen, leads the orchestra, the Swedish Radio Choir and Eric Ericson Chamber Choir in a magnificent concert in which Mahler’s second symphony takes the audience on a journey, from the opening funeral march to the optimistic finale. The pre-concert talk will be focusing on the festival’s past and future, and what we can do to save the sea that unites us.
The conversation and concert will be broadcasted live on Berwaldhallen Play. The concert will also be broadcasted live on Swedish Radio P2.
