On the bottom of the Baltic Sea are the remains of Stone Age settlements and forests. Objects are found here that would have deteriorated and disappeared a long time ago on land. Fishing nets, nutshells, bone, textiles and canoes are testament to the life humans once lived here.

A conversation with researcher in archaeology Björn Nilsson, one of the foremost experts in Sweden on maritime archaeology. His field is within the cultural history of humans and the sea; he takes his inspiration from the way Harry Martinson in his poetry describes nature, the past and human life.
